Atrio is a shopping complex in central Kanazawa with many luxury fashion brand boutiques. The building has 4 floors built around a large open central atrium with a variety of clothing stores on each level. Typically these are high-end brands such as Coach, Lacoste, and Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label.
There is also a basement level which has a drugstore, as well as food, drink, and confectionery stores and cafés. Look out for the Hakuichi Cafe where you can buy gold leaf ice cream.
Atrio is directly connected to the Daiwa department store, so you can walk between the two buildings without stepping outside. The basement level of Atrio also leads directly into the Daiwa food hall. Here are some highlights of this department store:
Many of the stores in Atrio have a tax free policy for overseas visitors. These stores will display a “tax free” sign. However, the method of claiming a tax refund for each store is different depending on the store. Please ask a salesperson when making your purchase about how to claim your tax exemption. Many stores around Kanazawa operate a tax refund policy for overseas customers so it is a good idea to carry your passport with you whenever you go shopping.
